GETTING PERSONAL

MORE GOOD THINGS

Lots of celebrities have a big heart such as the following:

Mike Tyson (the Boxer) came off like a Champ not a chump when he came to the aid of a 90ish-year-old woman who was entering La Restaurant using a walker. He asked if he could help her. He then made sure she got seated true gentleman, for sure. To add to this, he had met one of the waitresses – by chance – in Las Vegas, and he kept to his word by handing her two autographed boxing gloves and two t-shirts he had promised to give to her brother. Was she ever surprised and thrilled he kept to his word. He said, “Your brother could probably get about six hundred dollars for each glove on E-Bay” Yes, Mike’s promise was as good as his punch.

Actress Christina Applegate, now in the T.V. show entitled, Samatha who? (Very entertaining) has under gone a double mastectomy and is planning a program to help women, who lack financial resources, to get MRI that can detect the possibility of cancer. She and I know what it’s like to have cancer.

We get the impression Simon Cowell is a thoughtless individual because he tells contestants what he really thinks of their performances on the T.V. show, “The American Idol.” But his unsugared criticism can really be helpful to a hopeful winner. When Simon was on Oprah’s “Big give” T.V. series, he showed his really true colors for he paid off the $162,000 mortgage a financially strapped Minnesota family was struggling with to take care of their cancer-stricken daughter. You never know what a person’s real character is. His is amazing.

Funny man, Adam Sandler, wasn’t  laughing when he spotted an old lady lying in the parking lot of California’s Culver Ice Arena. She was covered in blood. After calling 911, Adam took the woman inside as they patiently waited for an ambulance. Adam showed such concern for the lady - eye witnesses thought she was his mother or grandmother. Seems she sprained her wrist and had a large gash on her forehead and seemed “out of it.” While spectators just watched, Adam tenderly cradled while comforting the stranger in his arms. Then – thoughtful Adam followed the paramedics in his Cadillac to the hospital sacrificing his night of skating with his family. But what a great lesson he taught his children about being compassionate about other people’s problem. Nice going Adam.
